Quilted Prairie Skirt: Folkwear |
Quilted Prairie Skirt The most treasured item in an 18th century lady's wardrobe was an elaborately quilted petticoat worn for both fashion and warmth. Overskirts were raised, divided and pulled aside to display the elegant handwork. Western pioneers made simpler calico versions of this skirt; later Victorian versions were machine-quilted taffeta with flounces. Misses Sizes 6-16 Suggested Fabrics: Lightweight cotton, blends, challis, wool, silk, satin, or taffeta. Normally sold for $14.95. Save 20%.
